The Cisco Jasper platform is an integral part of our business. It has accelerated our global rollout exponentially.
Mtrex uses Control Center to fuel growth and accelerate global expansion
Mtrex Networks is a provider of wireless services, powering hundreds of IoT-enabled applications worldwide, from vehicle location to utility metering, payment processing, asset management and more. The company works in partnership with Cisco Jasper to offer their customers a single business management platform to manage all their devices, with full integration into back-office business systems and workflow.
Control Center accelerates the provisioning and administrative processes for Mtrex. It also enables Mtrex customers to monitor their own devices as they connect to the network, and troubleshoot any potential issues themselves. With three quarters of the Mtrex customers using Control Center, the volume of support calls to the company’s call center has dropped by 50 percent.
Mtrex helps its customers deploy and manage their IoT applications and remote devices
Mtrex is no stranger to the Internet of Things (IoT). The company is built around providing secure, reliable wireless connectivity solutions and managed services to businesses in nearly every country of the world. Delivering a comprehensive set of products and services to a growing customer base requires a robust infrastructure.
“For us, Control Center is that infrastructure,” says Mori Tersigni, President and CEO at Mtrex Network Solutions.
Mtrex had begun building its own control infrastructure when it discovered the Cisco Jasper solution.
“At first, we started to build our own platform,” comments Tersigni, “but once we found out about Control Center, we stopped internal development and pushed hard to get the Cisco Jasper platform on board. We always knew we needed a solution that would act as a single layer to manage connectivity across devices, multiple data centers and our various partners’ wireless networks.”
Gaining faster results for Mtrex customers with easy IoT deployment
Prior to implementing Control Center, Mtrex relied on network operators to manually distribute devices and manage connectivity—a complex and time-consuming process for both Mtrex and its partners. Using Control Center as a single platform for connecting its solutions to wireless networks, Mtrex now helps its customers deploy and manage their IoT applications and remote devices faster, easier and more cost-effectively.
Self-service diagnostics and troubleshooting
Control Center also enables Mtrex customers to monitor their own devices as they connect to the network, and troubleshoot any potential issues themselves.
“Three-quarters of our customer base use Control Center,” explains Tersigni. “And now that customers can perform some of their own diagnostics in-house, the volume of support calls to our call center has dropped by at least 50 percent.”
Control Center also accelerates the provisioning and administrative processes for Mtrex. “We can now provision devices more than 60 times faster than before, and we can avoid overage charges using real-time cost controls,” adds Veronika Petrukina, Manager of Billing Administration at Mtrex.
The flexibility built into Control Center enables Mtrex to offer services to customers in multiple industries with drastically different business models while keeping costs under control. By using the Cisco Jasper platform, Mtrex now has the option to package its services in ways that make the most business sense for its various customers rather than forcing those customers into a one-size-fits-all model.
To support customers around the world, Mtrex partners with global network operators that have standardized on Control Center, including Rogers Wireless, AT&T Wireless and Telefónica.
“Cisco Jasper helps us better serve more customers across more countries,” comments Tersigni. “It has been the springboard for our international growth and has enabled us to expand faster than we could have ever imagined. When we venture into other countries, we only work with operators on the Cisco Jasper platform. It’s an integral part of our business and has accelerated our global rollout exponentially.”
