KaR-Tel, which is part of Veon, is the first mobile operator in Kazakhstan to adopt Cisco Jasper Control Center, the leading automated connectivity platform for managing IoT devices.

“Businesses throughout Kazakhstan are embracing IoT and its ability to shift business value from the products they produce to the services that they can now deliver by connecting those products,” said Rauan Kabdrakhimov, Corporate Sales Director at KaR-Tel. “We are excited to help enable this transformation for our business customers, and to help them deliver services that generate recurring revenues, while also enhancing their customers’ experiences. Cisco Jasper is the largest global IoT platform preferred by more enterprises than any other, so they were the natural choice as our IoT platform partner.”

With Control Center, KaR-Tel’s business customers can control costs, scale globally, and enable highly reliable IoT services.

KaR-Tel is aiming to deliver IoT services to the following industries in Kazakhstan:

  • Smart Meters – KaR-Tel’s infrastructure and the Cisco Jasper IoT platform will help bring future smart meter services and deployments to market faster.
  • Retail– Retailers are capitalizing on IoT to offer new services, enhance their customer experiences and more quickly enter new markets.
  • Connected Car – Connected Car initiatives enable auto makers worldwide to transform their vehicles into connected hubs capable of delivering services that enhance the driver’s experience, drive new revenue, and deliver powerful Research & Development insight into vehicle performance.
  • Agriculture – For many years farmers have been relying on IoT to battle pests, maximize irrigation, and increase crop yields to help feed our planet's growing population.

“This partnership will enable innovative global enterprises to capitalize on IoT services and capture their share of the connected service market,” said Kalle Ward, Managing Director, EMEAR, IoT Business at Cisco Jasper. “With our IoT platform, KaR-Tel is helping their enterprise customers transform their businesses by introducing new business models and creating never-before-seen experiences for their customers.”

Enterprises on the KaR-Tel mobile network will benefit from Control Center, which will not only provide near real-time visibility and control over IoT services throughout Kazakhstan, but also has the global scale needed to easily expand those services worldwide.
